Ryden - Espejismos salvajes
Jessica`s Hope - Mark Ryden
When I look those amazing pictures of Mark Ryden I think about a hidden universe in front of us that we can´t see because our blindness. This surreal atmosphere he creates takes me in the landscape of a loss childhood. And old imaginary feeds his incredible work. "I wanted to be able to see my wounds, but they were not on the surface of my flesh". He says to a reporter to explain why he was using blood in his clothes that day. That`s what the art does, reveals the wound, the inner marks, that our confrontation with the world does to us. In his case, clearly influenced by the Freud theories, the violence of the world against the pure conscience of the child.
